 Description:The dinner and ceremony for the 26th Investiture of the Gran Orden de Caballeros del Vino (“Grand Order of the Knights of Wine”) will be held on Tuesday, 9 March 2010, at the prestigious hotel The Dorchester of London.
The Order, established in 1984, was created as an instrument for promoting and developing Spanish wines, recognizing each year the people who have distinguished themselves exceptionally in the promotion of quality Spanish wines in the United Kingdom.
Each year, two new members are invested, whose identities remain hidden until the day of the dinner. The members of the Gran Orden propose six new candidates and the election is made by secret ballot. With the two new members to be invested in 2010, there will be 60 Knights in the Gran Orden.
The event is expected to be attended by 340 people from both the United Kingdom and Spain (importers, opinion shapers, distributors, representatives of specialized shops and wine cellar owners). Those attending will enjoy the menu prepared by Dorchester Chef Henry Brosi, who will offer an imaginative menu accompanied by 6-8 wines from several Spanish regions, chosen in advance in a blind tasting by the members of the Gran Orden de Caballeros del Vino.
Table reservations for the dinner and ceremony are limited to Spanish wine importers from the United Kingdom.
