| The seventh Salone del Gusto, organized by the Piedmont regional government, Turin city council and Slow Food, is a food fair and a meeting place which unites food culture and social and ethical awareness.
Terra Madre is an international encounter of food communities. Its origins are in a network of contacts between people dedicated to farming, transforming, trading or cooking who are committed to increasing small-scale, traditional and sustainable methods of production.
This year the Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre are coming together in a single event, to offer the visitor a chance to travel to the roots of food, a return trip from the earth to the table and back again. From the north of the planet to the south, from production to consumption, from peasant farmers to gastronomists and co-producers (the term used by Slow Food to define consumers who are aware of what food production involves and directly sustain the producer, so becoming an active part of the process).
