Air Europa begins flights from Bolivia to Spain

Spanish airline Air Europa has started to operate flights to Bolivia, with routes from London and Madrid to Viru Viru Airport in the city of Santa Cruz.

The Bolivian government's deputy minister for tourism Marko Machicao said that Air Europa's new flights to Bolivia will increase competition between the various airlines which operate in the country and bring down prices.

On May 30, newspaper Los Tiempos reported that Air Europa is attempting to fill the space left by bankrupt airline AeroSur and plans to open a route from Madrid Barajas airport to Viru Viru in Santa Cruz.
