Codere has been awarded the contract for the reconstruction and operation, for 30 years, of a well-known hotel and casino from the 1920s located at Carrasco beach, on the outskirts of Montevideo, Uruguay, according to a press release from the Spanish gambling company.
A final decision was made on the process after initially awarding the contract last January to the consortium headed by Codere, which also includes the investment groups Global Partners and AGG, and French hotel operator Sofitel.
The building housing this hotel, one of the most emblematic in the city, requires refurbishment for which Codere will invest over €40 million.
The works will give the area an economic boost, providing over 250 direct jobs and nearly 500 additional indirect jobs.
