Nearly one million golf tourists will have traveled to Spain throughout 2009, a figure that is similar to last year’s, according to the Turespaña forecast.
The details were provided at the opening of the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), a fair specializing in golf tourism that is being attended by 1,200 professionals from 65 countries, of which 300 are buyers and tour operator representatives, in Malaga, Spain.
In the European market, Spain’s share is nearly 35%, with a business volume of close to €1 billion. The average daily expenditure per tourist is €85, according to the tourism entity.
