Sol Meliá is planning to open an Insside brand hotel in Copenhagen (Denmark) in 2010. The announcement was made by the Spanish chain at the WTM fair and the company also confirmed that the Gran Meliá Shanghai will open on 12 December.
However, before its debut in the Danish market, Insside will open a hotel in the German city of Dresden, located in the center. It will have 130 studios, 22 superior rooms, 10 junior suites, 17 maisonette suites and one grand suite.
Sol Meliá has also announced that it is working towards adding 24 new hotels over the next two years, although through low capital intensive formats, such as management contracts or franchises (83% of the new establishments) and rentals (17%).
