The European Commission (EC) has added “sobao pasiego”, a typical Spanish patisserie product, to the list of products with protected denomination of origin status and protected geographical indication status, according to the EC.
Brussels has also decided to include the Italian rice, “Riso del Delta del Po” and the Italian lemon “Limone Interdonato Messina”.
The three products have now been added to the list of some 850 foods that are protected by the legislation for geographical indications, denominations of origin and traditional specialties.
