Spanish technology company Ibermática, through its Latin American subsidiary Tecnet, has entered strongly in the Colombian market, with a contract from the energy company Ecopetrol, the country’s largest company and one of the five most important petrochemical companies on the continent.
The contract between Ecopetrol and Ibermática includes the integration, updating and migration of the main control systems for the oil refinery located in the Peruvian city of Barrancabermeja to a new central control building, which will house all of the information for more integrated and safe operations at the refinery.
The Tecnet project could be operational within 30 months, which is the time in which it will be responsible for drawing up the detailed engineering.
With this contract, the subsidiary of the Spanish group consolidates its presence in Colombia, opening the doors to the greater Latin American market.
