The Spanish city of Cáceres, in western Spain, will host the 5th International Free Software Conference from 1 to 3 December. This edition of the forum, which has a slogan of “New economic environment, new opportunities”, is aimed at showing the advantages that free software can contribute to companies’ production and competition strategy.
Over the course of three days there will be ten expert panel sessions, four workshops and tutorials, and various other plenary sessions featuring more than 60 speakers, including figures such as Rahaf Harfoush, an expert in new communications media and on the impact that technology has on companies. In 2008, he formed part of Barack Obama’s online communications campaign.
The event has become the most important forum in Spain on the role of free software.
