A delegation from the Indian rail sector has visited the firms Talleres Alegría, Hierros y Aplanaciones (HICASA), Felguera Melt y Felguera Construcciones Mecánicas, Fluor, ITK Ingeniería-FENIT Rail and Talleres Zitrón, all of which are located in the north of Spain, according to Asturex, the overseas promotion agency of the region, which organized this inverse trade mission.
The delegation was made up of representatives from eight public and private Indian companies that are linked to the rail sector, including Indian Railways, the body responsible for all aspects related to rail infrastructure in the Indian market.
The mission also met with Tunnel Safety Testing, the fire and ventilation trials and testing center of the Barredo Foundation.
India is one of the largest economies in the world and is a strategic country for the Spanish Government, since it has maintained a continuous rate of growth despite the crisis, which the IMF predicts will continue at more than 6.5% until 2010. The greatest opportunities in this market are in infrastructure projects.
